HomeTeam Pest Defense Attends the National Apartment Association Convention

HomeTeam Pest Defense will share its expertise on pest management services and innovative products specially designed for multifamily units at the 2012 National Apartment Association (NAA) Education Conference and Exposition, scheduled June 28-30 at the Boston Convention Center.

Representatives from HomeTeam will be at booth No. 1231, presenting attendees with flyers, tradeshow giveaways, and brochures featuring pest control and subterranean termite products and services.   HomeTeam is the third largest residential pest and termite control company in the United States, and is the No. 1 pest management service provider to home builders.

HomeTeam will showcase the Taexx® system.  Taexx is a built-in pest control system that targets household pests at point of entry.  This system is a network of small tubing installed in designated walls during building construction.   For the residents’ convenience, the unobtrusive service ports for the tubes are located outside the living quarters.  This enables HomeTeam professionals to inject pest control material into the ports without having to enter the residence.  In addition, the Taexx system has low installation costs, no impact on building cycle time and a high perceived value.

HomeTeam also offers several termite control treatments for subterranean termites that project managers can use in the multifamily arena.  During construction, HomeTeam applies a borate-based termiticide directly onto the raw wood, concrete, and foundation penetrations.  When the treatment is dry, all treated wood and concrete can be handled normally since the long lasting termiticide saturates deeply within.  These applications satisfy all state and local municipality requirements, as well as all HUD lending requirements for termite pretreatments on FHA and VA loans.

Another method HomeTeam uses for protecting clients from subterranean termites is the Sentricon^® system. Sentricon is a termite baiting system that is installed before or after building construction.  The system requires no drilling in floors and foundations, and no digging or trenching.  Installation and quarterly monitoring is done by trained HomeTeam professionals and is completed outside.  As a result, there are no scheduling hassles for the project manager.
