Operation Servant Heart: Supporting Troops on the Frontline

Supporting veterans and active-duty military personnel is a key part of HomeTeam’s dedication to serving others. For the first time, we are partnering with Support Our Troops to supply care packages to service members, an initiative we’re committed to fulfilling at least through September 2021. “Receiving support while actively serving reminds military men and women that people at home are grateful for their dedication and willingness to fight for freedom,” said veteran and HomeTeam Houston West Service Manager Clarence Goff.

Support Our Troops strives to strengthen the morale and well-being of military members and their families. Among their many noble initiatives, the organization provides goods and services, from supplying bases and battalions with container-sized shipments to supporting individual service members.

In 2019, Support Our Troops delivered more than $69 million in goods and services to military members through their programs, while also connecting and educating communities about the needs of military personnel. HomeTeam employees donate and package materials for distribution in the most efficient manner.

Each month, HomeTeam locations around the country collect and ship items most frequently requested by serving military personnel to help meet their needs and to express gratitude for the sacrifices they are making. HomeTeam employees also collect black boot socks, baby wipes, $25 gift cards, single serve snacks, and thank you notes.

Helping drive efforts to collect care package materials, Goff said, “I volunteered to be a coordinator because as a veteran, I know the importance of

feeling connected to home when distance and your duty are separating you from your loved ones. By participating, HomeTeam employees have the potential to make a real difference in the lives of the individuals who make our freedom possible.”

During October, HomeTeam’s 50 participating locations collected 5,211 black boot socks and $10,485.00 in gift cards. Marking just the beginning of HomeTeam’s efforts to help those serving, the team will continue to gather and distribute goods to military personnel throughout the holiday season and into the new year.
